Hilltop Mural

Eric Crittendon, CBA's board chair, was involved in a project to create a mural on a building across the street from our school building at 2136 MLK Jr. Way.  The project was a collaboration between the Upper Tacoma Business Association, local residents, artists and the City of Tacoma's Safe and Clean Initiative.  As you can see the end product is beautiful and changes the neighborhood.  The mural is not just a pretty piece of art, it also tells a story.  A story of the importance of having older people pour into younger people.  One of the individuals depicted in the mural is Pastor Ivory Crittendon, the founder of Christian Brotherhood Academy.  Ivory's commitment to pouring his life out to a younger generation has not only impacted thousands of children at CBA, but it has given all of us a model of what it is going to take to transform our communities.  May this mural remind us all of the joy and great benefit we will receive by the sacrifice of investing in children.
